Featuring a curated art exhibition, live performances, music, food vendors, clothing and jewelry artisans, and henna booths, the event creates a vibrant space where tradition and innovation meet. This year’s theme, “Roots & Echoes: Stories Across the Diaspora”, explores heritage, migration, and identity, showcasing the intersectionality of our stories and how culture shapes our sense of belonging. More than just an event, Rituals is a platform for underrepresented voices, a marketplace for creativity, and a night of celebration.
About the Show
Curated by Kyla Gaganam
Rituals: presents “Roots & Echoes: Stories Across the Diaspora”, an exhibition that invites artists to explore the intersections of heritage, migration, and self-identity where we come from, how we navigate the present, and the futures we envision. This showcase highlights the Asian American experience, the immigrant journey, and the diverse, ever-evolving nature of multicultural identity, emphasizing that each artist carries a unique background and story that reflects the depth of this experience. How does heritage, environment, and culture shape our sense of belonging? How do we honor the voices of those who came before us while forging new paths? This exhibition amplifies underrepresented voices, capturing the nuances of diasporic displacement, intersectionality, and cultural reclamation, while showcasing how to navigate identity and tradition. Through diverse artistic mediums, we seek works that reflect belonging, resilience, and transformation, offering a space for artists to share their distinct narratives and illustrate the vast diversity within the Asian American experience.
